In the Enneagram, what is a 'wing'?

The two numbers adjacent to an individual's core type on the circle. It is believed that person's personality is influenced by one or both of these neighboring types.

Explanation

For example, a 'Type 1' might have a '9-wing' (1w9) or a '2-wing' (1w2), which modifies their behavior and temperament.
