How this works
Apologetics Flashcards is a curated, editor-reviewed library for studying the modern Christian apologetics conversation — its authors, books, arguments, and ministries. Here's how the site is organized, and how the project stays running.
Using the site
Browse, study, save
Library
The Browse, Directory, and Collections pages are how you find cards. Use Browse for filtered lists (by topic, person, book, century, denomination, or card type). Use the Directory to explore the people, ministries, books, and topics that anchor the library. Use Collections to open curated study sets.
Every card in the library has been reviewed and approved by an experienced apologist. You can browse without an account.
Study
Study flips cards front / back, in sequence or shuffled, so you can drill the material. If you're signed in, your progress is tracked with spaced repetition so cards you're weak on resurface more often. Guided study walks you through a topic step by step; Quiz tests recall with multiple choice.
Think of Library as "find and read" and Study as "practice until it sticks."
Your account (free)
Registration is free and gets you the core study loop tied to your name:
- Save cards to a personal list
- Spaced-repetition study progress across sessions
- Multiple-choice quiz mode
- Rate and review cards, report problems
Registration is required only so your progress belongs to you — a paid subscription is not.
Editor workflow
Cards move through draft → ready for approval → approved. Volunteers and editors draft and revise; apologists and admins approve. Only approved cards appear in the public library. AI can help draft, but every card is reviewed by a human before it goes live.
How this is funded

Volunteer work by the core team
The library exists because a small group of Christians — apologists, editors, and developers — donate their time to research cards, review drafts, and maintain the site. This is the foundation everything else sits on. No one on the core team draws a salary from the project.
One-time donations
If the site has helped you and you'd like to say thanks, you can drop a one-time gift through Buy Me a Coffee. These gifts cover hosting, AI usage, and small stipends for editors doing long research passes.
Subscriptions
Two optional tiers add tools on top of the free account. Every approved card stays free to browse and study — subscriptions unlock personal planning features, not content.

- Reading records — log books, articles, and videos you've worked through
- Custom decks — build your own study sets from any cards in the library

Scholar
$7 / month · $70 / year
Everything in Supporter, plus:
- Reading recommendations — personalized suggestions based on what you've studied and rated
- Study planning — longer-term reading plans that sequence topics for you

Ministries, publishers, and Christian organizations can sponsor a topic collection, a set of resource cards, or the site as a whole.
