What is a 'Burden of Proof Shift'?

Incorrectly demanding that the opponent disprove a claim rather than proving it oneself. Example: 'I believe in aliens; now prove to me they don't exist.'
Explanation
In debate, the person carries the burden of providing support for their claim. For example, if they claim "God exists", they bear burden for that claim; likewise, if they claim "God doesn't exist", they bear burden for that claim.
